He managed the “reengineering” of the City’s purchasing process and procedures, and completed a Government to Business’ Internet program for the purchase of citywide surplus property, including a “new” eCommerce credit card payment and receipt component capability. He participated in, managed and coordinated all formal requests for bids, including public works construction projects.
At the City of Arlington, Texas, he served as Purchasing Manager and was responsible for the management and supervision of three Purchasing Agents, one Purchasing Assistant and an Administrative Aide. Brunswick managed the transition of a “privatized” contracted service to an in-house Sanitation Collection service for the largest Sanitation District. He received special recognition from city management for being instrumental in making operational improvements at the McCommas Bluff Landfill, one of the nation’s largest landfills.
